It contains Singapore Island and 63 nearby islets, covering an area of 710 square kilometers. Its optimal geographical location at the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula makes it one of the commercial centers of Southeast Asia.

Getting around

  • Sentosa

    This 3-square-kilometer tropical islet boasts a kaleidoscope of fun-packed attractions, like Tiger Sky Tower, Butterfly Park and Insect Kingdom and Sentosa 4D Adventureland.

  • Merlion's Park

    The 8-meter-high Merlion statue, the symbol of Singpoare, depicts a half-fish, half-lion creature which has been squirting water from its mouth and residing at the waterfront Merlion Park since 1972.

  • Gardens by the Bay

    In the downtown park, a huge domed greenhouse amazes visitors with 250,000 exotic plants and the world's largest indoor waterfall. A number of trees are as high as a 16-story building.



  • Singapore Zoo

    One of the world's ten biggest zoos is a habitat of about 3600 animal and bird species, including some of the endangered ones like white tiger, white rhinoceros and Komodo dragon.
