Moscow, Russia

The glittering Moscow River flows through the 800-year-old city like a blue ribbon. The spire of the Kremlin and the golden domes of cathedrals shimmer in the sunlight. The Red Square pulsates with the nation's heroism. The Pushkin Square makes those famous lines “If by life you were deceived…” ring in your ears. The strains of old songs dance on the meadow of the Moscow State University at night. Graceful little swans glide and fly in Bolshoi Theater. The palace-like metro transports you back in time…

Getting around

  • Red Square

The famous square paved with stone slabs used to be where the former Soviet Union's important festival celebrations, mass rallies and military parades took place.

  • Saint Basil's Cathedral

It was built from 1555 to 1561 on orders from Ivan the Terrible and named after Basil the Blessed, an eccentric Russian Orthodox saint. Frescos adorn almost all of its corridors.

  • The Kremlin

This iconic national symbol of Russia is one of the world's largest complexes. It's a historical, cultural and artistic gem and one of the world's most important cultural heritage sites.

  • Metro

Moscow's metro has gained its reputation as “Underground Art Hall”. Each station is designed by renowned architects. Huge murals, reliefs and sculptures go well with various unique lighting schemes, recalling a magnificent palace.

  • Ivan The Great Bell Tower

Narrow spiraling staircases inside lead to the top of the white tower, which affords a commanding view of the whole city and the surrounding areas within a radius of 30 kilometers.

  • Pushkin Square

A 4-meter-high bronze statue of Pushkin stands on the square in downtown Moscow, where fans and poem lovers converge particularly on June 6, the great poet's birthday.
