Getting around

• Mount Yandang

  Trek up to the top of the 1150-meter-high peak where a lake smothered with reeds is the favorite pit-stop of migratory birds in autumn. Yandang, one of China's ten most celebrated mountainous destinations, won't let you down.

• Nanxi River

  The river snakes its way for 145 kilometers through lush vegetation and deep valleys, and the scenic area it flows through is widely extolled as the “Cradle of Chinese Landscape Paintings”.

• Baizhang Waterfall

  Roaring waterfalls, stunning peaks, lovely lakes and graceful ponds all combine to make this scenic area 115 kilometers away from downtown Wenzhou an appealing respite from the oppressive summer heat.

• Jiangxiyu

  This bushwhacked islet in the middle of the Oujiang River, the second largest in Zhejiang province, has been the muse of nearly 800 Chinese lyric poems. Historic halls and pavilions are dotted around.

• Taishun

  Home to Yulingyan National Reserve and Chengtian Radon Spring Provincial Nature Reserve, this small town close to the city of Wenzhou is exactly what the fresh air fiends and the physical fitness enthusiasts are looking for. Some other small attractions like Sea Clouds at Fengxiang, Taishun Corridor Bridge and China's longest iron chain bridge are added incentives.
