Milan, Italy

You'll love it at first sight. It's a heady mix of art, architecture, operas, paintings, football, fashion and foods.

It's old, but vibrant. It's a timeless huge book of legends which you'll never get tired of reading. It is fetching as the Three Graces sculpture by Italian sculptor Antonio Canova. Come to Milan. With just one glance, you'll have a thing for it.

Getting around

  • Milan Cathedral

This elaborate and spiky Gothic edifice is the world's second largest cathedral behind Vatican's St. Peter's Basilica. It’s here that Napoleon held its coronation ceremony.

  • Santa Maria delle Grazie

Leonardo da Vinci's “Last Supper” hangs on the wall of the refectory in one of Milan's most remarkable churches.

  • Teatro alla Scala

This Mecca for Italian operas has seen 350 premieres of operatic shows in the past 150 years since the construction of the venue was completed.

  • Pinacoteca di Brera

The painting gallery may not look that imposing, but few museums can hold a candle to it in terms of exhibits. It houses a remarkable collection of outstanding works of art from the 15th to the 18th centuries.

  • Via Monte Napoleone

Despite the name, it has little to do with Napoleon. It has risen to fame simply because here one can walk through numerous top fashion brands of the world.

  • Derby

Football is one of Milan's international faces. The football match between A.C. Milan and F.C. Internazionale Milano is a hotly contested local derby and one of the most followed derbies in the world.
