Dear Passengers,
In response to the recent travel advisory issued by the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs, Air China has introduced a special ticket handling policy to
help affected passengers adjust their travel plans for flights to and from
Japan. The details are as follows:
1. Applicable Conditions
The ticket must meet all of the following three conditions:
(1) The ticket must be an Air China–issued ticket beginning with “999”
(including mileage award tickets), purchased or reissued to generate a new
ticket number on or before 12:00 on November 15, 2025.
(2) The unused portion of the ticket must involve Air China–operated flights or
codeshare flights with a CA flight number, with travel dates from November 15,
2025 (inclusive) to December 31, 2025 (inclusive), departing from or arriving
in Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka, Sendai, Hiroshima, Sapporo, or Okinawa.
(3) The request for a ticket change or refund must be made on or after 00:00 on
November 15, 2025 (based on the ticket cancellation time).
2. Ticket Change and Refund Rules
If you have not yet determined a new travel date, please contact your
original ticketing channel, Air China’s customer service hotline at 95583, or a
sales office before the scheduled departure time to cancel your reservation.
Once your new travel plan is confirmed, you may proceed with a change or refund
according to the following rules.
(1) Ticket Change
Within the ticket validity period, the first change fee will be waived.
However, fare differences between booking classes and peak/off-peak seasons
will apply. Any subsequent changes will follow the original fare rules of the
ticket.
(2) Ticket Refund
Within the ticket validity period, you may request a refund for unused flight
segments without any cancellation fees. If a ticket has already been changed in
accordance with this notice and the passenger subsequently requests a refund,
the refund will be handled in accordance with the original fare rules.
(3) Alteration
of Itinerary and Re - issuance of Tickets
If you wish to change the itinerary or the carrier, we recommend that you
refund the original ticket and purchase a new one.
3. This notice shall come into effect as of November
15, 2025.
